Job summary

DEPT®, a Growth Invention company, is seeking a Motion Designer for its Marketing & Technology team based in London. The role involves shaping visual direction, crafting compelling motion content, and collaborating across disciplines to solve client problems with innovative digital marketing solutions.

Candidates should demonstrate strong art direction, motion design experience, and proficiency in After Effects.

  • Solid After Effects skills with timing, framing, and storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the visual and motion direction from concept to delivery.
  • Develop strong creative ideas rooted in narrative and pacing.
  • Design and animate high quality motion across campaigns and formats.
  • Define look and feel, styleframes, and motion language.
  • Collaborate with designers, creatives and other disciplines.
  • Guide motion execution to align with creative intent.
  • Stay curious about new tools and techniques in motion and visual design.

Job Purpose

This position sits in our Marketing & Technology service based in London. We combine data, technology, creative content, and paid media to crack brands’ business problems & drive revenue through a variety of digital marketing solutions like ad campaigns, augmented reality, and chatbots. Our clients include EasyJet, eBay, INEOS, Logitech, L’Oréal, Roblox, Walkers and Zalando.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Shape the visual and motion direction of projects from concept to delivery
  • Develop strong creative ideas rooted in narrative, pacing, and visual structure
  • Design and animate high quality motion work across campaigns and formats
  • Define look and feel, styleframes, and motion language for projects
  • Collaborate closely with designers, creatives, and other disciplines
  • Guide motion execution to keep work aligned with the original creative intent
  • Stay curious of new tools, references, and techniques across motion and visual design
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • Strong visual judgement and confidence contributing to concepts and creative direction. Art direction experience showing how you’ve helped craft the visual story of your work
  • Experience as a motion designer with a clear art direction mindset
  • Solid After Effects skills with a good sense of timing, framing, and storytelling. Video editing in Premiere Pro or Davinci Resolve is a plus.
  • Experience creating styleframes, visual systems, and narrative driven motion
  • Curiosity around AI tools and interest in learning how they can support creative work
  • Experience of working in agency setting
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and working within a multi-disciplinary team
  • A strong portfolio or showreel showing concept, craft, and high quality motion work
