Job summary

Bureau for Visual Affairs in Borough, London, is seeking a Midweight Full-Stack Web Developer to join our team. You will work on a range of projects from content platforms to ecommerce, using Node.js and Python, with React and GraphQL, and you will be directly involved with clients and the design process.

We value a self-starter with 2–6 years experience in a design agency or creative startup, strong JS skills, Git, CLI comfort, and a passion for building robust systems and high-fidelity UI

Overview

At Bureau for Visual Affairs we plan, design and develop user-experiences across culture, fashion and lifestyle, focusing on what defines today’s institutions and brands: experience, content and relevancy. We are looking for a Midweight Full-Stack Web Developer to join our team in Borough, London.

Responsibilities

In this role you will be part of a communicative, highly skilled development team, working on a wide variety of projects from large-scale content platforms to ecommerce. You will be working with our full-stack which typically includes Node.js and Python applications, React and GraphQL. You will be directly involved with our clients and design process.

About you

We are looking for a motivated self-starter with a keen interest in technology, who enjoys the process of working with what we think is a highly interesting community of clients (see below), and a very knowledgeable and motivated team.

You should also bring with you a good eye for detail, communications skills and bring the following:

• At least 2–6 years experience, ideally within a design agency or creative startup / product team
• Knowledge of Node.js and Python
• Familiarity with React.js
• Experience with GraphQL / REST
• An interest in AI workflows
• Experience with E-commerce
• Aptitude for designing systems and problem solving
• Experience translating designs into code with a high degree of fidelity
• Good knowledge of Javascript best practices
• Experience with git
• Comfortable using command line tools
