Job description

About Us

AnalogFolk is an independent next generation creative company, and for 18 years has partnered with bold and ambitious brands to deliver creative and innovative solutions to help drive brand growth. Our client portfolio includes Costa, Perk, Meta, HSBC, L'Oreal, Galderma and Diageo. Our team is split between London and the US, and totals 60 people.

Role Overview

We're looking for a Midweight Designer to join the design team at AnalogFolk.

We're a small, ambitious team of designers working alongside creatives, strategists, technologists and clients to make work that gets noticed.

You'll work across some of the world's biggest and most interesting brands, taking ideas from the first sketch through to the final execution that goes out into the world. We're looking for someone who wants to think, make, experiment and own things. Someone with a strong creative instinct, a curious mind and the confidence to get stuck into a brief and figure out where it could go.

What you'll do

You'll take ownership of your own projects, working from brief through to final delivery. That means you'll be involved in the whole creative process: understanding the problem, generating ideas, exploring different routes, developing the strongest one and making the final work brilliant.

You'll work across a broad mix of projects and formats; from campaign ideas and digital experiences to social content, moving image and creating brand worlds.

You'll work closely with our creative team throughout. Sometimes you'll be developing a design in response to a creative idea; sometimes you'll be bringing the idea yourself. Either way, we want designers who see collaboration as a way to make the work better.

You'll also help us keep pushing how we make things. That could mean experimenting with AI, new digital tools, generative technology, motion, emerging formats or simply finding a smarter way to solve a familiar problem.

What we're looking for
A creative problem solver

You don't just make things look good. You're interested in the thinking behind them. You can take a brief and find an unexpected way into it. You're naturally curious and enjoy exploring. You'll generate multiple routes, test ideas, throw things away and start again when you need to. You're not precious about the first solution.

A designer with range

We're looking for a generalist rather than a specialist. Someone who can move between different types of work and genuinely enjoys doing so. You might be designing a campaign one day, building out a social idea the next, then jumping into Figma, After Effects or an AI tool to figure out how something could work. We don't expect you to be an expert at everything. We do want you to be interested in learning anything that helps you make better work.

Someone ready to own their work

At AnalogFolk, everyone gets real responsibility. So we're looking for someone who is comfortable taking a brief, figuring things out, asking the right questions, communicating clearly and seeing a piece of work through to the end, with the support from the senior team around them.

A brilliant collaborator

This is a small team, and we work closely with our creative department, so being good to work with is essential. You'll need to be generous with ideas, open to feedback and confident enough to challenge things when you think there's a better answer. We care about the work more than who had the original idea. No egos. Just better work.

Someone with a bit of get-up-and-go.

We like people who notice things and do something about them. You might spot a new tool worth trying, bring an interesting reference into a creative review, teach yourself a new technique, question a brief or suggest a completely different way of approaching a problem. You need to be curious, proactive and hungry to make things happen.

Your toolkit

You should be confident working with:

  • Adobe Creative Suit; Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • After Effects and basic animation/motion
  • Figma
  • Video editing for social and digital content
  • AI and generative tools, with a genuine interest in where they're going next
Experience

2+ years of professional design experience, ideally in an agency, studio or similarly creative environment.

This could be the perfect next step for a junior designer who's ready to take on more responsibility and start owning projects.

We care much more about the quality of your thinking and your portfolio than where you've worked or what your job title has been.

You will be able to show us work that demonstrates:

  • Strong conceptual thinking
  • A distinctive creative point of view
  • Excellent graphic and digital design craft
  • Curiosity and experimentation
  • Range across different formats and disciplines
  • The ability to take an idea from concept through to execution
  • Work you're genuinely proud of, and can talk us through
What we look for

Everyone brings their individual skills to AnalogFolk, however, there are five values which we are proud to have and look for in all new our recruits:

  • Stay Restless - Always strive for better to push the boundaries of what's possible.
  • Expect Remarkable - Go beyond the expected to create something worthy of remark. Accept nothing less.
  • Make Change - In everything you do, find a way to make a positive impact.
  • Do Good - Don't talk about ideas that create progress. Make them. If something isn't working, be the agent of change.
  • Be You - Bring all of yourself and make this place your own. In return, welcome all others.
