Job summary

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Generator Engineer to service, maintain and install generators and control systems at customer premises in the Midlands. The role involves diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults, with a focus on safety and reliability.

You will join a well‑established business offering weekly pay, a new company vehicle, a leading pension, PPE and equipment, and a supportive office coordination team.

Qualifications

• Time-served generator engineer with electrical bias and mechanical knowledge.
• 18th Edition compliant and proficient with generator-related controls.
• Strong fault-finding ability on generator control panels and switchgear.
• Experience upgrading control systems, including Deepsea controllers.
• Knowledge of UPS systems is a plus but not essential.
• Must have a full UK driving licence and CSCS/ECS card.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and install generators and control systems at customer premises.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
• Carry out fault finding on generator control panels and switchgear.
• Perform portable proof load bank testing.
• Upgrade existing control systems, including Deepsea controllers.
