Reporting to the Commercial Art Director, you’ll be key to bringing our books to life, working alongside a team of highly creative, well-regarded, and hardworking designers who tackle the challenges for a diverse range of books. You will be a vital part of the team, expected to work across all our imprints, handling the creative process from initial brief to final artwork. You’ll have creative autonomy and the opportunity to commission illustrators, photographers, and other designers. A major part of your day will be developing strong working relationships with our editorial teams, where conveying ideas clearly and interpreting feedback effectively will be key.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain more experience in a busy and creative department. You should be enthusiastic about working across many publishing genres, with a passion for commercial cover design and proven experience in this area. Your abilities should enable you to understand our readers and design covers that engage them. An impressive portfolio demonstrating your design talents, problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to respond creatively to feedback are essential. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and knowledge of print and digital reproduction are also required.

This role can be based at our London office or at regional offices in Sheffield, Edinburgh, Newcastle, or Bristol, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
