Job Summary

Ascension a Catholic school committed to academic excellence and spiritual formation seeks a dedicated and passionate Middle School Science Teacher. The ideal candidate will integrate scientific inquiry with a faith-based perspective fostering both critical thinking and moral responsibility in students.

Job Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with curriculum standards

  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs and styles.

  • Integrate Catholic values into classroom discussions and scientific topics where appropriate (e.g. stewardship of the Earth ethical science).

  • Foster a safe respectful and disciplined classroom environment grounded in Gospel values.

  • Assess student learning through formal and informal assessments and provide constructive feedback.

  • Participate in school-wide liturgies prayer services and faith-formation activities.

  • Collaborate with fellow teachers administrators and parents to support student learning and school community.

  • Attend faculty meetings professional development and school functions as required.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Science Education or related field

  • Previous experience teaching middle school students preferred.

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing (preferred especially for faith formation responsibilities).

  • Strong communication organization and classroom management skills.

  • Commitment to the mission of Catholic education.
