Job summary

Academics is recruiting a Midday Supervisory Assistant for Caerphilly to ensure a safe, supervised lunch period. The role runs from 12pm to 1pm, five days a week, with pay starting at £14.50 per hour, dependent on experience.

You will supervise lunchtime activities, assist with meals, and support pupils in the playground and classrooms as needed. We seek a caring, patient and reliable individual with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Caring, patient and enthusiastic individual.
• Experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliability and safeguarding commitment.
• A valid Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• To supervise children during the lunch break.
• To help children eating their school dinner or packed lunch.
• To supervise children in the playground.
• To supervise children in their classes during inclement weather.
• To play games and undertake activities with the children.
• To deal with minor accidents and injuries and administer some First Aid.
• To manage children's behaviour positively.
• To maintain confidentiality and safeguard all pupils.

Pay Rate: Starting at 14.50 an hour (pay dependant on level of experience and length of placement)
