MIDDAY ASSISTANTS - Term Time Only

Contract: Part time/Permanent

Working Pattern: Monday and Friday 11:55 AM - 1:10 PM (2.5 hours a week)

Working Weeks: 38 Weeks (term time)

Salary: Scale 2 Points 3-4 £1397.78 - £1419.76 pa

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and caring Midday Assistants to join our team. This is a vital role in the school day, helping ensure that lunchtimes are calm, safe, and enjoyable for all our pupils. Whether helping younger children with their meals, encouraging positive play, or supporting transitions in the hall, your presence and engagement will make a real difference.

Responsibilities

During Lunch Service:

  • Set up and clear down tables and equipment in the dining hall before and after meals.
  • Supervise pupils in the dining hall, ensuring a calm, safe, and respectful environment.
  • Help younger children with tasks such as cutting up food and using cutlery.
  • Work closely with the midday team to support smooth movement between the hall and kitchen.
  • Promote good manners and encourage positive social interaction.

Outdoors and Play:

  • Engage with children during outdoor play, promoting inclusive and creative games.
  • Be proactive in encouraging kindness, cooperation, and active play.
  • Help to ensure that all children feel seen, safe, and included in activities.
