Job summary

Milton St Johns CE Primary School is seeking a caring, proactive midday assistant to supervise children at lunchtime in the dining hall and playground. The role is permanent with 6.25 hours per week and a Grade A SCP 3 salary.

You will work under the headteacher, engage in quality lunchtime activities, and support safeguarding; a DBS and full background checks are required. Interviews will be arranged for shortlisted candidates; closing date is 9th November 2026 at 10am.

• Experience with children is useful but not required.

We are looking to appoint a caring, proactive, and enthusiastic midday assistant to supervise the children at lunchtime, both in the dining hall and in the playground. You will need to be organised and able to work well with a team.

You will be responsible to the headteacher and be required to engage in quality lunchtime activities. This includes supervision in the playgrounds, in the dining room and in other areas of school as required. A friendly, calm and patient approach is essential.

Previous experience in this role is not necessary, although some experience of working with children would be useful.
