Job summary

Milton St Johns CE Primary School in Tameside is seeking a caring midday assistant to supervise children at lunchtime in the dining hall and playground. You will work as part of a friendly team, with a calm, patient approach; no prior experience required.

Appointment is subject to a DBS and full background check. The post is permanent with a Grade A SCP 3 salary (£3,805 actual for part-time hours) and 6.25 hours per week. Closing date: 10am on 9 November 2026.

We are looking to appoint a caring, proactive, and enthusiastic midday assistant to supervise the children at lunchtime, both in the dining hall and in the playground. You will need to be organised and able to work well with a team.

You will be responsible to the headteacher and be required to engage in quality lunchtime activities. This includes supervision in the playgrounds, in the dining room and in other areas of school as required. A friendly, calm and patient approach is essential.

Previous experience in this role is not necessary, although some experience of working with children would be useful.
