Role

A Software QA Analyst at FX Digital has a passion for ensuring quality in all facets of your profession. You will report to the QA manager, who will be able to offer guidance and support. You can competently, and independently, write robust test plans and test cases to ensure quality coverage within a fast-paced working environment on multiple concurrent projects (Smart TV apps). You will be responsible for ensuring that the quality of work delivered is of an impeccable standard across the board.

You are brave enough to challenge team members with regards to quality and processes, forever striving towards an improvement in both. You maintain personally and encourage a culture of curiosity to the learning of new languages, tools and practices to maintain the high standard of quality and innovation expected at FX Digital.

You are a dependable and collaborative member of the QA and wider FX team, able to competently communicate and follow processes, while having a desire to innovate with regards to your personal development needs, tools and opportunities that contribute towards increased professional knowledge and efficiency. You have a keen eye for detail, a passion for process and a thirst for knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Involved throughout the full test life cycle (requirement analysis, test case planning and definition, test execution, defect capture and reporting).
  • Enforce and uphold the quality assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Hold yourself and colleagues accountable for the standard of work that is released, ensuring it meets both aesthetic and functional requirements.
  • Able to create and maintain documentation for processes.
  • Thorough documentation of test plans and test cases and the maintenance of these.
  • Report and prioritise bugs and issues raised in a variety of channels.
  • Proactively and clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with Junior and Senior QAs to contribute towards implementing broader automation test coverage across current and future projects.
  • Assist with the personal development and mentoring of more junior members of the QA team with a growth mindset for yourself and team members.
  • Requirement analysis experience and testing.
  • Mature regarding decisions, admits mistakes and accepts critical feedback.
  • Maintain professionalism in interactions with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Writing test cases for automation BDD using Gherkin syntax.
  • Good understanding of Git/source control (Tokens, SSH, repositories, commits, conflicts).
  • Basic understanding of networking.
  • Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and good eye for detail.
  • Able to effectively communicate, written and verbally, to all levels within the business.
  • Experience with version control and workflows and relevant tools.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Able to demonstrate great attention to detail, care and accuracy while maintaining the speed of work to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with issue tracking tools such as Jira.
  • Exceptional understanding of UX qualities.
  • Experience using software debugging tools (e.g. web inspector).
  • Knowledge of APIs, testing of them and related tools.
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience of working in a wider team with multiple concurrent projects.
  • Understanding and experience of the SDLC process in agile/scrum methodologies.
  • Relevant work experience with OTT apps (Connected Devices/Smart TV).
  • Experience with PlayWright, Puppeteer or Cypress.
  • Experience testing on Playstation and/or Xbox platforms.
  • Experience implementing or integrating unit testing.
  • Experience testing HTML video players.
  • Relevant work experience testing iOS and Android mobile apps.
  • Understanding of manifest files for video player development.

This is a full-time role based out of our office in Old Street, London. We can only consider applicants who are able to work 3 days per week from the office.
