Job summary

The Progress Group is seeking an experienced Mid-Weight Graphic Designer to join our in-house Marketing Team on a part-time basis. Working with our Creative Lead, this role would suit a freelance designer looking to bring their skills into an in-house role, or someone from an agency background used to managing multiple brands.

Location is home-based with some travel to the head office. The role offers 30 hours across 4 or 5 days and a salary of £35,000 FTE (£28,000 pro rata) with substantial

Qualifications

  • Extensive hands-on knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Excellent layout, typographic and art direction skills.
  • Experience of using Adobe Premiere and After Effects - Preferred.
  • A portfolio demonstrating a varied range of design work across web, mobile, print, display etc.
  • Good working knowledge of print processes and production.
  • The ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and organisational abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Use briefs to independently produce high-quality design collateral across brands.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Lead to evolve and elevate brands.
  • Create social media and digital assets, applying brand awareness.
  • Implement and evolve brand guidelines on briefs.
  • Question briefs where needed and shape them with the marketing team.
  • Manage multiple brands and briefs, delivering high-quality work on time.
  • Maintain day-to-day tasks in Asana.

Are you an experienced designer with a sharp strategic eye and a portfolio of creative work to prove it? The Progress Group have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mid-Weight Graphic Designer to join our well-established in-house Marketing Team on a part-time basis. Working closely with our Creative Lead, this role would suit a freelance designer looking to bring their skills into a part-time in-house role, or someone with an agency background who is used to managing multiple brands simultaneously.

Role and Key Responsibilities:
  • Use creative briefs to independently produce high-quality design collateral across a broad range of projects for each of the brands within the group
  • Work with the Creative Lead to produce conceptual documents as needed, to help evolve and elevate the brands
  • Create social media and digital assets, applying strategic brand awareness to strengthen consistency and recognition
  • Confidently implement our brand guidelines when completing design briefs, and using your experience to help evolve them where useful
  • Show initiative and strategic thinking to question and shape briefs where required, working with the marketing team to ensure designs fulfil objectives while working to deadlines
  • Manage multiple brands and design briefs simultaneously, prioritising effectively to deliver high-quality work at pace
  • Manage day-to-day tasks and projects effectively through Asana, ensuring all design jobs are delivered on time
Personal Specification - Experience:
  • Extensive, hands-on knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign - Essential

  • Experience of using Adobe Premiere and After Effects -Preferred
  • A portfolio demonstrating a varied range of design work across a multitude of platforms including web, mobile, print, display etc. - Essential

  • Strong communication skills - Essential
  • Excellent organisational skills and an ability to work on multiple brands and projects simultaneously, with confidence to manage your own workload - Essential
