The Maverick Group is seeking a Mid-Weight Creative Designer who can push boundaries using AI-led workflows across branding, campaigns, events and experiences. You will craft visuals that feel both innovative and tangible, working with a collaborative team.
This hybrid London-based position requires expert AI and Adobe skills to deliver high-impact work for internal and external communications, shaping the future of the brand.
We build brands that people want to be part of. Inside & Out.
Great brands must keep their promise twice. First, inside the organisation, through people who understand the brand, believe in it and bring it to life every day. Then out in the world, through ideas and experiences that make people notice, care and act.
That's why we're built differently. We bring internal and external communications together under one roof, with one integrated creative team working across both sides of the brand.
Inside, we create employee engagement, culture and communications that make people feel something about the organisation they're part of.
Outside, we build brands using every tool available – content, advertising, brand strategy, PR, social, film, influencers, events and sponsorship – to make brands matter in the real world.
We're proudly independent, which means we're free to challenge convention, follow the work and think differently. And right now, we're doing something pretty radical. We're rebuilding our creative studio around generative AI.
AI isn't a side project here. It isn't something we're experimenting with on Friday afternoons. More than 70% of our creative process is already powered or supported by AI, and we're investing decisively in what comes next.
We're looking for people who aren't waiting to see what the future of creativity looks like. Because they're already making it.
We know we're looking for a unicorn. Which is probably why we haven't found them yet.
We're looking for a Mid-Weight Creative Designer with a blow-the-doors-off level of talent to join a team of designers, creatives and creative directors already making things that haven't been made before.
This isn't a role for someone who simply wants to execute someone else's ideas. We want someone who can think, make, experiment, challenge and surprise.
Someone equally comfortable developing a visual identity, turning a campaign idea into something brilliant, designing an event experience, building a pitch-winning proposal or generating something that would have been impossible a couple of years ago. And then doing something completely different tomorrow.
Because of our Inside & Out way of working, you'll get to work across brands, campaigns, culture, communications, events, social, film and experiences.
We aren't looking for someone who has watched a few Midjourney tutorials and added 'Prompt Engineer' to their LinkedIn profile. We want someone who genuinely understands how to use AI in the best way.
Someone who knows which tool to use, why to use it, how to push it beyond the obvious and how to build an intelligent workflow around it.
Someone who can take an idea from a scribble in a notebook to a finished piece of film, imagery, identity or experience, faster, further and in ways that simply weren't possible before.
If you're already doing that, we'd really like to meet you.
You’ll be expected to move effortlessly between disciplines and create exceptional work across:
You’ll work closely with our Creative Directors and wider creative team, developing ideas from the first thought through to the final piece of work.
Lots of designers say they’re good at AI. Very few actually are.
We’re looking for someone with expert-level generative AI experience.
Able to generate exceptional imagery across multiple AI platforms.
Understand the strengths, weaknesses and quirks of different AI tools.
Build intelligent AI workflows using tools such as Runway, Figma Weave and whatever comes next.
Visualise events, exhibitions, retail environments and experiential concepts.
And combine AI with traditional design and production skills to create work that feels crafted, not generated.
You’ll also need expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Talent for typography, layout and visual design.
Experience with integrated campaigns.
Experience in branding, identity systems and guidelines.
The ability to create beautiful, persuasive presentations.
Excellent organisation and the ability to juggle multiple projects at pace.
Strong presentation skills and the confidence to explain and sell your thinking.
A collaborative, proactive attitude combined with an insatiable curiosity about what comes next.
Your portfolio is much more important to us than a beautifully formatted CV.
We want to see evidence of your creative thinking and exceptional craft.
Ideally, your portfolio will demonstrate:
Branding & Identity - Work that shows you understand how to build a distinctive visual world, not just make a nice logo.
Advertising & Communications - Campaigns and ideas that show you can take a thought and turn it into something people actually want to look at.
Experiential & Events – Work that demonstrates you can think beyond the screen and create physical experiences, environments and moments.
AI Mastery – Thisis important. We want to see real, professional AI work, both still imagery and AI-generated film. Don't just tell us you're good at AI. Show us.
We're particularly interested in seeing where you've used AI to make something better, faster, stranger, more ambitious or simply impossible to make last year.
This is a hybrid, London-based role.
You’ll need to already live within a reasonable commuting distance of London, or be willing to commute to our London studio up to three days a week.
Then there's a good chance you're the kind of person we're looking for.
Someone with the craft of a great designer.
The curiosity of a creative inventor.
And the AI skills to completely change what's possible.
If that’s you, we want to see your work.
Come and help us build what the industry looks like next.
