Job description

Mid-weight Copywriter

London (Hybrid, 2-3 days in-office)

Are you a highly–conceptual London–based mid–weight copywriter who is comfortable having your face licked by some of your coworkers? If so, do we have the job for you!

In addition to the occasional face licking, you'll be part of The Disobedient, Edgard & Cooper’s creative studio, which is tasked with telling the world what over a million pets already know: that Edgard & Cooper makes amazing nutritious pet food. You’ll craft messages that are entertaining, funny, memorable, and surprising, showcasing your talent in engaging storytelling.

Your work will involve generating ideas that increase the fame of the Edgard & Cooper brand through packaging, events, in-store signage, digital, TV, and outdoor campaigns. You’ll collaborate with designers, strategists, and marketers (and yes, dogs) eager to produce some of the best work of their careers.

Responsibilities

We value proactive, self-starting creatives who think beyond assigned tasks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop clever or humorous concepts, bringing them to life with human-sounding copy across various channels.
  • Inject humor and personality into communications naturally, especially given the pet-centric focus.
  • Collaborate effectively with designers, strategists, and marketers.
  • Adapt tone and style to different channels while maintaining a distinct brand voice.
  • Pursue creative excellence while remaining open to feedback and iteration.
Skills & Capabilities

Additional talents such as photography, editing, or music knowledge are a plus. We appreciate diverse skills that can bring Edgard & Cooper to life. Please share any talents or passions you have outside of writing. To be successful in this role, you should also have:

  • 3–5 years of copywriting experience in an agency or in-house team.
  • A keen eye for detail, language, and cultural nuance.
  • A natural sense of humor and effortless writing style.
  • Strong conceptual thinking, capable of crafting ideas, not just words.
  • The ability to create marketing that feels authentic and engaging, prompting others to ask, “Have you seen what Edgard & Cooper is up to now?”
Additional Perks & Benefits
  • Competitive salary with pension, health insurance, and Deliveroo for Work.
  • Supportive policies as a Certified B Corp employer.
  • Company retreats across Europe to meet colleagues in person.
  • Flexible remote working options for better work-life balance.
  • Pet-friendly office environment and unlimited pet food supply.
  • Annual volunteering day and access to wellbeing programs, including counseling.
  • Gym membership via Classpass.
  • 25 days of paid holiday annually.
  • One month of remote work per year for personal pursuits.
  • Option for one month of unpaid leave to recharge.
