Job description

Salary: £40k-£60k (DOE)

Location: Leigh-on-Sea, Essex (in-office role)

About Us:

Storm is an award-winning, strategy-first creative agency and production studio based in Essex. We help ambitious brands grow through insight-driven strategy, design, and content – all developed in-house.

Position Overview:

We’re looking for a sharp, reliable, and technically excellent designer to join our creative team. This role isn’t about big-brand conceptual thinking or blue-sky ideas. It’s about someone who knows how to collaborate on direction, solve problems visually, and execute great work quickly and consistently. You’ll be working closely with our Strategy Directors to translate smart thinking into clean, effective design across websites, campaigns, social, and brand.

Our Showreel:

Responsibilities:

  • Design social campaigns, ads, decks, brand assets, websites and landing pages
  • Create visual assets for brands across packaging, identity, and signage
  • Collaborate on logo design, product concepting and brand naming projects
  • Translate creative direction and wireframes into clean, modern layouts
  • Contribute to product art direction and storyboarding short-form video content
  • Maintain and evolve brand templates, style guides and reusable design systems
  • Work closely with our SEO/content teams to deliver designs that are both beautiful and high-performing
  • Bring ideas to life quickly – balancing speed, structure, and visual quality

Requirements:

  • 4+ years’ experience in an agency or in-house creative team
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe XD (we don’t use Figma)
  • Portfolio that shows clean, modern digital design with structure and clarity
  • Ability to work from loose creative direction or content plans without hand-holding
  • Someone who’s organised, accurate, fast and thrives under pressure
  • A thinker as well as a doer – able to solve design problems, not just follow instructions

Bonus Skills (not essential but useful):

  • Experience working with performance-led teams (SEO, content, paid media)
  • Understanding of UX/UI principles

Why Join Storm?:

  • You’ll be joining an award-winning agency
  • You’ll be working with a highly collaborative, in-office, supportive team with no egos
  • Genuine growth opportunities in a growing agency
  • The opportunity to work with a prestigious client base
  • ‘Years of service’ bonus and profit share scheme
  • ‘Years of service’ gifted holiday scheme
  • In-house production studio for video, audio and podcasts
