We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and career-driven trading underwriter to join one of our London-based commercial underwriting teams. This is an excellent role for a multiclass underwriter (Property & Liability and/or Motor Trade) who can operate within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably grow a book of commercial Mid–Market business.

This role requires a proactive and strategic approach to building and managing a portfolio of brokers and customers. You will play a vital role in expanding our market presence and driving the success of new or existing business teams.

Aviva has introduced “smart-working”, and the person in this role can be based anywhere in the UK, as long as they are comfortable with regular travel to our London offices.

A bit about the job:

The successful candidate will work collaboratively within our London underwriting team to support the Senior Underwriter and Team Manager in delivering financial growth plans. You will collaborate closely with brokers and customers to understand their needs and leverage data insights to deliver tailored solutions. Strong organization and time management skills are essential to manage your diary effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Previous underwriting experience in Property, Liability, or Motor Trade
• Strong risk analysis and effective communication and presentation skills with brokers and/or customers
• Excellent collaboration skills within large, complex organizations
• Confident trading abilities with a broad panel of brokers and good knowledge of FCA regulations and legislation
• Strong commercial acumen to create and deliver compelling business cases
