Job summary

Zurich in Croydon is seeking a part-time/hybrid Underwriter to join the Southeast Mid-Market team. Focus on underwriting and trading new business opportunities within Property, Casualty and Construction, building broker relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.

Qualifications

• Underwriting experience, particularly in Property & Casualty, is advantageous
• Passion for customer service and a strong desire to succeed
• Excellent communication and relationship-building ability
• Confidence to make decisions using both data and judgement
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage changing priorities
• Good organisational and time-management skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive New Business Underwriting for Mid-Market P&C/Construction risks.
• Trade confidently in the market, representing Zurich with professionalism and credibility.
• Build strong relationships with brokers and intermediaries to support new business conversions.
• Provide innovative, customer-centric solutions tailored to unique risk profiles.
• Deliver exceptional service to exceed customer and broker expectations.
• Take ownership of individual new business pipelines while supporting the wider team.
• Identify opportunities to grow the portfolio in line with strategy.
• Ensure risks are profitable and in line with underwriting guidelines.
• Support process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
• Be a collaborative and positive team player to foster a standout culture.
