Job summary

Bauer Media Outdoor in London is seeking a software engineer to help sunset a legacy system and release a modern platform for clients to bid on ads, control graphics, and monitor real‑time data. You’ll focus on BA with some FE work, building features using React, NodeJS, Typescript, Kubernetes and AWS.

You’ll collaborate with Product, UX and Data/ BI to deliver end-to-end solutions, write tests, and optimise performance and security of the product.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of software engineering experience using our stack (backend or full‑stack).
• Experience building APIs, data flows, and CI/CD pipelines with monitoring.
• Ability to balance technical excellence with pragmatic delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and build reliable, scalable features with minimal supervision.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and code reviews.
• Ensure performance, security, and reliability in your components.
• Write tests and automate deployments.

About The Role

We're sunsetting our legacy system used by our clients and moving into a more sleek, advanced system where our clients can bid for advertising space, control the graphics on our advertising portals, view real time data and ad performance. You'll be key in the release of the platform and keeping it fresh with new feature builds and migrations. The majority of the role is focused on BA work with some FE work. Our stack: React, NodeJS, Typescript, Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, Jenkins, Postgres, SQL, Grafana

What you'll be doing

• Design and build reliable, scalable features with minimal supervision
• Contribute to architectural discussions and code reviews
• Ensure performance, security, and reliability in your components
• Write tests and automate deployments
• Collaborate closely with Product, User Experience and Data / BI to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Understand business and end-user needs, problems and feedback to optimse the product
• Capture data and metrics on the success of the product and on how we deliver to continuously im-prove

What you’ll bring to the team

• At least 4 years of software engineering experience as a backend or full stack engineer using our stack
• Experience with APIs, data flows, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring
• Ability to balance technical excellence with pragmatic delivery
• Ability to understand business and user needs or problems and define realistic solutions
• Good understanding of system design and performance trade-offs
