Job summary

Stonebridge Mortgage Solutions Ltd is seeking a Mid Level Software Engineer to join our Agile team. This role includes hybrid working (3 days in the office and 2 days from home) to help drive the development of our Revolution cloud-based platform and other critical applications.

You'll contribute to designing, developing, and maintaining software for 1,400+ advisers across the UK, collaborating with developers, testers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years commercial software engineering with Microsoft technologies.
  • Strong experience with .NET, .NET Core, C#, MVC, WebForms, Entity Framework.
  • Experience with VB.Net is a plus.
  • Exposure to Blazor, Telerik and/or React is beneficial.
  • Strong SQL skills and Git experience.
  • Experience in Agile environments.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks (MSTest/NUnit/xUnit).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain features across the Revolution platform and internal apps.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into clean, efficient code.
  • Participate in design discussions to build scalable, high-performing solutions.
  • Collaborate with developers, testers, support teams, and stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
  • Conduct code reviews to maintain coding standards, security, and best practices.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks for excellent user experience.

Stonebridge Mortgage Solutions Ltd is growing, and we're looking for a Mid Level Software Engineer, hybrid working (3 days office based and 2 days working from home) to help drive the continued development of our innovative Revolution cloud-based platform and other business-critical applications.

You'll play an important role within our Agile development team, designing, developing, and enhancing software that supports over 1,400 advisers across the UK. Working closely with developers, testers, support teams, and stakeholders, you'll help deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that make a real difference to our users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain features across our Revolution platform and other internal applications.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • Participate in technical design discussions, helping to shape scalable and high-performing solutions.
  • Collaborate with developers, testers, support teams, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to maintaining high coding standards, security, and best practices.
  • Analyse technical challenges and work with the wider team to deliver effective solutions.
  • Identify and help resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure an excellent user experience.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and application issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across development processes and practices.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and design workshops.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation.
  • Keep up to day with emerging technologies and share knowledge with colleagues across the team.
  • Develop a strong understanding of our systems and support colleagues and users where required.
Our ideal candidate
  • Solid commercial experience (normally 3 years+) as a Software Engineer using Microsoft technologies.
  • Strong experience with .NET, .NET Core, C#, MVC, WebForms, Entity Framework, and modern development practices.
  • Experience with VB.Net would be beneficial.
  • Exposure to Blazor, Telerik and/or React would be advantageous.
  • Experience developing and maintaining web-based applications.
  • Good understanding of source control systems such as Git, including branching and merging strategies.
  • Strong SQL skills, with experience writing efficient and optimised queries.
  • Experience working within an Agile development environment.
  • Knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as MSTest, NUnit, or xUnit.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to discuss technical concepts clearly with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Collaborative and proactive, with a genuine passion for technology and continuous learning.
  • Able to meet pre-employment screening requirements (right to work, DBS, credit checks, etc.).
