Job description

Are you looking for a Lab Based role? Do you have an interest in Microbiology? Are you highly motivated and proactive?

A successful and expanding contract testing laboratory are seeking a Microbiology Technician to join the team at their site in Hemel Hempstead. The company offers testing and analytical services to the food industry.

This is a permanent role, initially Part Time hours, but there may be opportunity to transition to full time hours in the future. Salary is prorated for part time, based on full time salary of £22,308pa.

Role Overview
  1. Prepare samples and reagents for laboratory testing.
  2. Perform extractions and minor analysis of samples as required.
  3. Provide support in the Instrument room as required and under the supervision of Senior Staff.
  4. Ensure all work areas are kept clean and tidy and well stocked with lab consumables.
  5. To ensure all work is conducted in line with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and UKAS 17025.
  6. Permanent, Part Time Role.
Requirements
  1. An interest in Microbiology and desire to work within a Laboratory.
  2. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  3. Proactive and analytical approach to work.
  4. Education in a Scientific Discipline would be highly beneficial but is not a necessity.
  5. Some experience in a lab environment either from an academic or commercial/industrial setting would be highly beneficial.
