Job Description:

Andersen Caledonia is a fast-growing life sciences company specializing in sterilization and laboratory testing for the medical device, pharmaceutical, and healthcare industry. We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our microbiology laboratory department located in Preston, Lancashire.

Normal Working Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 09:00-17:00

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Assist the laboratory management in all aspects of compliance with relevant technical and quality standards in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017
• Perform routine microbiological and chemical analysis & associated tasks in accordance with relevant standards and published SOPs

Responsibilities:

• Perform microbiological & chemical testing using a variety of analytical techniques in accordance with relevant standards and SOPs
• Ensure proper documentation for all samples received to facilitate accurate and timely processing
• Prepare and publish customer reports and provide follow-up customer support where necessary
• Prepare media & perform Media QC
• Carry out goods received procedures
• Perform IQC according to the accredited IQC Procedure and periodic EQA as required
• Ensure calibration, daily checks, and maintenance are performed in line with company procedures and UKAS accreditation
• Facilitate the day-to-day operation of the lab and specific test requirements in response to customer demands

Qualifications:

Educated to a degree level in a relevant scientific discipline or qualified within a scientific field

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year experience in a commercial laboratory
