MICROBIOLOGY LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

This could be your opportunity to excel as a Microbiology Laboratory Technician as well as playing a vital role in helping our business succeed.

We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join our Environment & Safety Division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride. We are looking for a proactive, reliable and committed Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join our Environmental team. It is key that you are able to work efficiently and independently, as well as working well as part of a wider team. While you may be performing the same array of tests day to day, the projects you undertake will change, creating variety in your day to day life.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse a variety of samples, including water, soil, swabs and fuels.
• Follow standard operating procedures and adhere to training.
• Calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Media preparation.

Our Environmental team is made up of many different specialists all operating within different areas of expertise. The main areas we cover are Environmental Monitoring and Consultancy together with specialist laboratories to support our services. Our services range from on site monitoring and sample collection, ranging from local businesses to large Government contracts, to consultancy works on large contaminated land projects, complemented with onsite works for dust, noise, and local exhaust emissions.
