Key Responsibilities:
•Lead and manage a dynamic microbiology team within a fast-paced commercial laboratory environment.
• Oversee the daily operations, resource allocation, and strategic planning of microbiological testing activities.
• Ensure departmental compliance with ISO 17025 standards and specific client requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production, quality, process development, and team performance.
• Maintain responsibility for Health & Safety and environmental compliance within the laboratory setting.
• Implement flexible operational strategies to align laboratory capacity with sample intake, optimizing productivity per team member.
• Conduct internal audits and investigate non-conformities in accordance with company policies and accreditation body standards, including UKAS.
