Job summary

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for an Associate Practitioner in a UKAS accredited Microbiology Laboratory in Peterborough. You will work as part of a friendly, busy team, supporting Biomedical Scientists and handling routine diagnostic tasks.

This role involves training, recording and reporting results, and participating in 24/7 shift patterns including weekends. Applicants from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Assist Biomedical Scientists in the Microbiology service.
• Perform routine diagnostic tests under supervision.
• Perform molecular testing under supervision.
• Participate in training of other staff.
• Be prepared for weekend rotations and shifts.

Responsibilities

• To assist Biomedical Scientists in the provision of an efficient and effective Clinical Microbiology service.
• To perform routine diagnostic laboratory tests, after training, accurately recording and reporting results.
• To perform molecular testing and daily running of molecular suite, after training, accurately recording and reporting results.
• To participate in the training of other laboratory groups as appropriate.
• Required to work one day every fourth weekend and participate in shift rotas.
