We have a vacancy for a Permanent Band 4 Associate Practitioner to join our friendly Microbiology Team at Hull Royal Infirmary. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team, who we expect will be able to help us provide an efficient, high quality Microbiology Diagnostic Service. We are committed to providing excellent training and support a variety of CPD and learning opportunities. If you have the appropriate qualifications and experience required for this role, and would like to thrive in a supportive and scientific department while providing a diagnostic service for our patients, then this is the job for you! The successful candidate will be able to be flexible in order to meet the service needs. Interviews for this post will be held face to face with no remote option available. The post holders will perform a range of complex tasks in closely defined areas comparable with a Biomedical Scientist. This will include reception duties (sorting patient samples and entering requests), performing manual, semi-automated and fully automated laboratory investigations and the reporting of results (verbal and electronically). The post holder will use their individual judgment to make decisions that will have an impact on the provision of accurate and timely reports within available resources. The post holder will work closely with other healthcare professionals and be expected to support, advise and train less experienced staff such as trainees, students and Band 2 MLAs, ensuring that personal proficiency and competency are maintained., As part of seeking to become more inclusive, we will consider requests for flexible working from the start of your employment.
