Job summary

Great Bear (Part of the Culina Group) is seeking an experienced MHE Trainer to join our Duckmanton site, delivering training to MHE operators to ensure safe practices and continual reduction in incidents. The role supports a strong safety culture and on-going operator development.

Shifts are 4 on 4 off (days), 06:00 to 18:00, totaling about 40.25 hours per week, with a £32,000 annual salary plus overtime after 40.25 hours.

Qualifications

• Valid MHE training certification preferred; recently expired certifications may be considered.
• Refresher or external training can be provided for the right candidate.
• Willingness to work a permanent 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Champion a positive Health & Safety culture on site with safe working practices.
• Deliver high-quality MHE training, inductions and refresher sessions.
• Train MHE operators on the Fleet Management System and ensure confidence in processes.
• Maintain training records and support the site skills matrix.
• Complete workplace assessments to keep operators safe and compliant.
• Assist with risk assessments and hazardous controls to reduce risk.
• Support investigations into MHE incidents and share learnings.
• Provide KPI and monthly reporting on training across shifts.

Job Description

We're looking for an experienced MHE Trainer to join our Great Bear team in Duckmanton, who will play a key role in delivering training to MHE operators to ensure safe working practices and a continual reduction in MHE accident / incidents.

• Shift pattern: 4on4off Days, 06:00 to 18:00, 40.25 hours per week
• Paying: £32,000per annum plus overtime after 40.25 hours per week paid at time and half

Qualifications

What you'll be doing:

• Champion a positive Health & Safety culture on site, keeping safe working practices at the heart of daily operations.
• Deliver high-quality MHE training, inductions and refresher sessions for permanent and agency colleagues.
• Train MHE operators on the Fleet Management System and ensure colleagues are confident using the correct processes.
• Maintain accurate training records and support the development of a site skills matrix to track operator competence.
• Complete workplace assessments to ensure MHE operators remain safe, capable and compliant.
• Support risk assessments, Safe Systems of Work and hazard controls to reduce risk across MHE activities.
• Assist with investigations into MHE-related incidents, identifying learnings and helping prevent repeat occurrences.
• Work closely with operational management to cover training requirements across shifts and provide accurate KPI and monthly reporting.
