Job summary

AO is seeking an experienced MHE Trainer to join our Crewe logistics operation on a permanent basis, with dayshift 12-hour patterns. You will develop colleagues, raise safety standards and build high-performing teams across the site.

The role involves practical and classroom training, inductions for new starters and agency staff, and ongoing certification management. The ideal candidate will have accredited MHE instructor status, a full UK driving licence, and a proven ability to coach others

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
• Experience operating MHE in warehousing/logistics.
• Strong health and safety knowledge.
• Experience delivering practical training and coaching.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging practical and classroom-based training
• Lead inductions for new starters and agency colleagues
• Train, assess and re-certify colleagues on MHE equipment
• Support compliance with health and safety standards across the site
• Maintain accurate training records and certification data
• Work closely with Operational, HR and Health & Safety teams
• Identify opportunities to improve training effectiveness and operational performance
• Ensure mandatory training requirements are completed across your shift

We have opportunities available on both permanent days working a 12-hour shift pattern.

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing

As an Operational Trainer, you'll play a vital role in developing our people and ensuring they have the skills, knowledge and confidence to work safely and effectively.

You'll:

• Deliver engaging practical and classroom-based training
• Lead inductions for new starters and agency colleagues
• Train, assess and re-certify colleagues on MHE equipment

A Few Things About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about developing others, confident in front of groups and able to adapt their approach to suit different learning styles.

Essential

• Full UK Driving Licence
• Experience operating MHE within a warehouse or logistics environment
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements
• Experience delivering practical training and coaching
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Qualifications

• Accredited MHE Instructor qualification (RTITB, ITSSAR or AITT) preferred
