Job summary

Greencore in Selby is seeking a Night Shift worker (Sun–Tue initially, 18:00–06:00) with a Counter Balance license to ensure health, safety and hygiene of the area. Rotation after 6 weeks to midweek shifts is planned.

You will inspect Fork Trucks and perform pre-start checks, loading/unloading to spec, and stock scanning to maintain accuracy. Ideal candidates hold a Counter Balance and Pallet Truck license, plus health & safety level 2, food hygiene level 2, manual handling, scanning experience,

Qualifications

• Counter balance forklift license is essential.
• Pallet truck license is advantageous.
• Health and safety qualification Level 2 or higher required.
• Food hygiene certificate Level 2 preferred.
• Manual handling experience is desirable.
• Experience with scanning equipment required.
• Experience working in a cold store environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee health and safety and hygiene in your area under the Supply Chain Shift Manager.
• Perform forklift inspections and pre-start checks.
• Lead daily duties of the Supply Chain team shift.
• Ensure safety checks on forklifts and loading bays are completed.
• Unload/load vehicles to spec and maintain stock accuracy.
• Stock scanning and regular stock checks to prevent discrepancies.
• Escalate shortages and incidents following proper procedures.

Nights - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, - 18:00pm to 06:00am (after 6 weeks rotates to Wednesday, Thursday, Friday for a further 6 weeks)

Pay Rate - £18.07ph

(Over time is after 36 hours a week at time and a quarter)

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Supply Chain Shift Manager, you will be responsible for the Health and Safety as well as the Hygiene of your Area. Other duties include Fork Truck inspections and pre start checks.You will need to hold a CounterbalanceTruck license to be considered for this role.

• Responsible for the day to day duties of the Supply Chainteam shift.
• Health and Safety Compliance in accordance with the company policy.
• Completion of all safety checks including Fork lift Trucks and Loading Bay checks.
• Complete all tasks in a safe manner and promoting a safe working environment within your team and across the site wide.
• Loading and Unloading of Vehicles ( to the correct specification and quality)
• Scanning Pallets into stock and also out of stock checks to be done on all stock to make sure that accuracy of stock is not affected.
• Communicate any shortfalls in advance by using the correct escalation procedure.
• Report any Incidents or Accidents using the correct escalation procedure

What we are looking for

Must Have:

• Counter Balance License

Ideally Have:

• Pallet Truck license would be advantageous
• Health and Safety Qualification Level 2 or above
• Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2
• Manual Handling Experience
• Worked with Scanning Equipment
• Experience of Working in a Cold store Environment (Cold temperatures)
