Job summary

Meridian Business Support Ltd is seeking an MHE Driver for a global manufacturer based in Nelson (BB9). Four shift patterns are available: DAYS & NIGHTS, DAYS, NIGHTS, and MONDAY TO FRIDAY DAYS, with start times ranging from 06:00 to 18:00 and 18:00 to 06:00. Pay is £14.49ph with overtime at £21.74ph on all hours.

You must hold relevant licences (Counterbalance, Reach, Yard shunter or similar). Training is provided for the Double Handler FLTs.

Qualifications

• Must have either Counterbalance, Reach, Yard shunter, Tug master or Pallet Truck experience with inhouse or external licence (In date or expired)
• Training provided for Double Handler FLTs and site procedures
• Own transport due to site location (BB9) and shift times

Responsibilities

• Operate Double Handler FLTs fitted with four forks to move materials
• Load, unload and transport palletised goods safely
• Move and position materials throughout the site
• Carry out daily FLT checks and report faults or safety concerns
• Perform shunting duties as required
• Operate Counterbalance and Reach FLTs when trained
• Follow Health & Safety and site procedures

Job description

• DAYS - 06:00 to 18:00
• NIGHTS - 18:00 to 06:00
• MONDAY TO FRIDAY DAYS - 08:00 - 16:00

Pay rate is £14.49ph across hours worked on either days or nights

Overtime £21.74ph across hours worked on either days or nights

Ongoing temporary role with Immediate starts available

Must have either Counterbalance, Reach, Yard shunter, Tug master or Pallet Truck experience with inhouse or external licence (In date or expired)

You will be MHE Driver operating Double Handler, which are specialist forklifts fitted with four forks, allowing multiple pallets to be handled at once - all training is provided.

MHE Driver - Key Responsibilities:

• Operating Double Handler FLTs fitted with four forks to safely move and handle materials and products.
• Loading, unloading and transporting palletised goods safely and efficiently.
• Moving and positioning materials and products throughout the site.
• Safely handling multiple pallets using the Double Handler FLT.
• Carrying out shunting duties where required, in line with site procedures.
• Operating Counterbalance and Reach FLTs where trained and authorised.
• Completing daily FLT checks and reporting any faults or safety concerns.
• Following all Health & Safety and site procedures at all times.
• Due to the location of the site (BB9) and shift start/finish times, you must have your own transport. There is no suitable public transport available for these shifts.

There is also a strict no-smoking policy on site, and employees are required to remain on site throughout their shift.
