Job summary

Meridian Business Support Ltd is recruiting an MHE Driver for a global manufacturer in Nelson (BB9). The role involves operating the Double Handler and other FLTs, with training provided, across multiple shift patterns (days/nights and a Monday–Friday 08:00–16:00 option).

A valid licence for Counterbalance, Reach, Yard shunter, Tug master or Pallet Truck is required, and own transport is advised. This ongoing temporary position offers immediate starts.

Qualifications

• Experience operating MHE forklifts, including Double Handler FLTs.
• Valid licences for handling equipment (in date or expired).
• Ability to perform safety-focused pallet movement.

Responsibilities

• Operate Double Handler FLTs fitted with four forks to safely move and handle materials and products.
• Load, unload and transport palletised goods safely and efficiently.
• Move and position materials and products throughout the site.
• Safely handle multiple pallets using the Double Handler FLT.
• Carry out shunting duties in line with site procedures.
• Operate Counterbalance and Reach FLTs where trained and authorised.
• Complete daily FLT checks and report faults or safety concerns.
• Follow all Health & Safety and site procedures at all times.

Job description

We are looking for MHE Driver to join a global manufacturer based in Nelson (BB9)

We have 4 shift patterns available:

• DAYS & NIGHTS – 06:00 to 18:00 & 18:00 to 06:00
• DAYS – 06:00 to 18:00
• NIGHTS – 18:00 to 06:00
• MONDAY TO FRIDAY DAYS – 08:00 – 16:00

Pay rate is £14.49ph across hours worked on either days or nights

Overtime £21.74ph across hours worked on either days or nights

Ongoing temporary role with Immediate starts available

Must have either Counterbalance, Reach, Yard shunter, Tug master or Pallet Truck experience with inhouse or external licence (In date or expired)

You will be MHE Driver operating Double Handler, which are specialist forklifts fitted with four forks, allowing multiple pallets to be handled at once – all training is provided.

MHE Driver - Key Responsibilities:

• Operating Double Handler FLTs fitted with four forks to safely move and handle materials and products.
• Loading, unloading and transporting palletised goods safely and efficiently.
• Moving and positioning materials and products throughout the site.
• Safely handling multiple pallets using the Double Handler FLT.
• Carrying out shunting duties where required, in line with site procedures.
• Operating Counterbalance and Reach FLTs where trained and authorised.
• Completing daily FLT checks and reporting any faults or safety concerns.
• Following all Health & Safety and site procedures at all times.

Due to the location of the site (BB9) and shift start/finish times, you must have your own transport. There is no suitable public transport available for these shifts.

There is also a strict no-smoking policy on site, and employees are required to remain on site throughout their shift.
