NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
Due to the retirement of the current post holder, we are delighted to invite applications for the role of Lead Nurse – Child Protection for NHS Grampian. Working closely with colleagues throughout the Health Board – and with our multiagency partners – we are looking for a candidate who can lead operationally and strategically our work to keep children safe.
Candidates should have significant operational and strategic experience in the field of Child Protection and be attuned to the demands of multiagency working. They will need to bring significant experience of complex child protection operational practice, along with creating policy and procedures for a Health Board.
Given the requirement to be able to lead across service boundaries and build relationships with Police Scotland, Local Authorities, and Health and Social Care Partnerships, candidates must possess strong influencing and communication skills.
NHS Grampian covers the North East of Scotland, and is one of only four teaching Health Boards in Scotland. With strong links to Universities and Local Authorities, we provide tertiary services to approximately 590,000 people within Grampian and residents of neighbouring NHS Boards, employing over 17,000 staff.
Aberdeen and the surrounding Grampian area have been voted one of the best places to make a life in Scotland. The city offers a vibrant urban environment with cultural amenities, alongside rural, outdoor lifestyles in the coastal and inland towns of Aberdeenshire and Moray.
For an informal discussion and to learn more about us and the role, please initially contact Kenny O’Brien, Associate Director – Public Protection, at [email protected]
Interviews will be held during the week commencing Monday, 16th June 2025.
