Job overview

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 6 Mental Health Nurse to Join Ealing North MINT. Our service is centered around the Primary Care Networks and aims for comprehensive engagement with Integrated Care Systems using a whole person, whole population health approach. Our model utilizes all available community resources including health, social care, Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organizations, and local communities, considering resources to support wellbeing outside of mental health services alone. These new teams enable and support people to access mental health services whenever and wherever they need it, supporting individuals to manage their mental health within their local community. We are looking for skilled and enthusiastic individuals.

Main duties of the job

As a Mental Health Nurse, employed by West London NHS Trust, you will be key in developing pathways of care within the local community mental health team (MINT). This role offers opportunities for mentorship, career progression, and continued education.

We seek applications from Registered Mental Health Nurses with experience in community services.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working across various community mental health settings and with diverse mental health diagnoses/needs;
  • Knowledge and experience in delivering brief interventions to patients with mental health needs;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to enhance relationships with local MINT Teams.

Qualifications and Training

  • Professional qualification in mental health – Mental Health Nursing (RMN) with current NMC registration
  • Degree or Diploma with relevant courses such as CBT, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, etc.
  • Ongoing professional development evidence

Experience

  • Post-qualifying psychiatry experience
  • Supervisory experience of junior staff
  • Experience in a Band 6 or equivalent role
  • Post-registration relevant experience
  • Audit and research experience
  • Experience in teaching/training
  • Experience working in primary care, social care, or voluntary sectors
