An established industry player is seeking a Mental Health Lead to provide strategic and operational leadership for mental health services. The post holder is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for the mental health agenda across Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. They will support the Trust in developing a culture that promotes parity of esteem for all patients.
The post holder will lead the development and implementation of a Mental Health strategy aligned with national, regional, and local priorities. This strategy aims to improve patient care and experience through system working and staff development.
They will be accountable for the strategic development, leadership, and management of the mental health agenda, advising clinical teams and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. This includes designing and implementing projects to enhance care quality, experience, and safety for patients with physical and mental health needs across adult and children’s services.
The role involves leading the delivery of the Trust’s mental health services strategy, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, legal frameworks, and national guidelines.
The post holder will act as a subject matter expert in mental health patient care, including legal aspects such as detention, assessments, treatment, restraint, and discharge.
They will lead change management programs related to mental health services within the Trust and maintain their clinical development by staying informed about new interventions, treatments, and technologies in mental health and acute care.
The post holder will oversee the development and implementation of policies that reflect national guidance and legal requirements, are evidence-based, and accessible to staff from all professional backgrounds. These policies will be regularly reviewed to ensure they remain effective.
