Job description

Job Introduction
We are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician to join Listers MG in Solihull. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team ahead of our new dealership opening in June / July 2025. MG is one of the fastest-growing automotive brands, with an extensive lineup of new models. The successful candidate will be part of this exciting journey.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with Saturdays 9 am to 1 pm on a rota basis.

We offer excellent basic salaries with OTEs up to £41,000 plus benefits, depending on experience. Role and Responsibilities

Our technicians are responsible for servicing, repairing, and diagnosing all vehicles in the workshop, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standard on the first attempt.
Main responsibilities include electrical and mechanical repairs, such as suspension, steering, brakes, wheel bearings, driveshafts, exhausts, and air conditioning servicing.
Additional responsibilities may involve repairs and maintenance on EV and Hybrid vehicles, including using electronic diagnostic equipment, focusing on batteries, drive motors, auxiliary drive packs, and control systems.
You will have the ability to fit manufacturer accessories and audio equipment.
You will understand the importance of Customer Satisfaction and its impact on the business.
Training will be provided to operate additional systems, such as video reporting (e.g., CitNOW).
You will complete all service paperwork to manufacturer and brand standards.
Collaborating closely with other workshop team members to learn and share knowledge continually.

About you

We welcome candidates from all backgrounds with experience in the automotive sector, including roles such as Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician, Motor Mechanic, Motor Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, HGV Fitter, Auto Electrician, MOT Tester, or Apprentice Vehicle Technician.
Whether you work at an independent garage, fast-fit centre, car supermarket, or main dealer, we are interested in speaking with you.
You should hold or be working towards NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
An Electric and Hybrid Vehicle qualification or certification is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
An MOT License would also be beneficial but is not mandatory.
A full UK driving license is required.
As long as you demonstrate good mechanical and electrical knowledge and can perform work to a high standard, we have the training and facilities to help you advance in your career.
