We are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician to join Listers MG in Solihull. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team ahead of our new dealership opening in June/July 2025. MG is one of the fastest-growing automotive brands with an extensive lineup of new models.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm, as well as Saturdays 9am to 1pm on a rota basis.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Servicing, repairing, and diagnosing all vehicles in the workshop, ensuring high standards are met first time.
2. Perform electrical and mechanical repairs, including suspension, steering, brakes, wheel bearings, driveshafts, exhausts, and air conditioning servicing.
3. Repair and maintain EV and Hybrid vehicles, using electronic diagnostic equipment, focusing on batteries, drive motors, auxiliary drive packs, and control systems.
4. Fit manufacturer accessories and audio equipment.
5. Understand and prioritize Customer Satisfaction and its impact on the business.
6. Operate additional systems like video reporting (e.g., CitNOW).
7. Complete all service paperwork to manufacturer and brand standards.
8. Collaborate with workshop team members to share knowledge and learn.

About you

1. Experience in the automotive sector as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician, Motor Mechanic, Motor Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, HGV Fitter, Auto Electrician, MOT Tester, or Apprentice Vehicle Technician.
2. Experience at independent garages, fast fit centers, car supermarkets, or main dealerships.
3. Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
4. Electric and Hybrid vehicle qualification is advantageous but not essential; full training provided.
5. MOT license is beneficial but not essential.
6. Full UK driving license.
7. Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, with a commitment to high standards.
