MFS Investment Management is seeking a Business Operations Sr. Analyst to support content and operational activities within its Strategy and Insights Group. The role involves optimizing processes, supporting strategic initiatives, and collaborating across departments to improve risk management and workflow efficiency. Ideal candidates will have a strong analytical mindset, experience with data, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

THE ROLE
The mission of the newly formed Strategy and Insights Group (SAIG) is to “help MFS become the most trusted and respected investment manager in the world.” Our ability as an organization to pay off this mission is in part driven by how well we can innovate and improve operational processes tied to content creation and production.
The Business Operations Sr. Analyst acts as the day-to-day support for a range of content and operational activities, with a focus on key projects and advancement of initiatives specific to departmental processes by facilitating the smooth, efficient flow of daily operations across the Strategy and Insights Group. Works closely with the Head of Strategic Program Management, as well as the Business Operations Sr. Manager, helping to define and implement our department’s short and long-term operating strategy.
Additionally, the individual participates in firm- wide projects, performing support functions on behalf of the Business Operations team. This role is expected to provide supportive partnership across the department to execute on solutions, decrease operational risk and promote long-term efficiency.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Performs routine tasks according to guidance from Sr. Manager (or team lead) to help efficiently scope, resource, and track deliverables through project lifecycles.
Builds strong working relationships by combining strong organizational skills with a growing business understanding to ensure deliverables are executed on time. This role liaises with other functional groups in the department relative to their participation in the lifecycle of a content project or operational initiative.
Conducts a variety of data checks with the goal of minimizing risk and finding opportunities to enhance business operations.
With manager guidance, helps to implement data record retention standards and best practices within the team.
Monitors that processes and best practices are adhered to within the group. Partners with core functional teams to learn about the status of existing projects and details about new projects. Is expected to review current and future timelines and job statuses with the heads of department and the individuals working on the jobs.
With team support, acts as a liaison to other business units, helping to find ways to increase automation and minimize errors. Supports Sr. Manager (or team lead) when collaborating with Risk Management, Internal Audit, Compliance, Legal, HR, Vendor Management, Finance and other functional areas across MFS to drive key initiatives to completion for the organization.
Participates in developing and enhancing operational processes and mitigating risks by providing feedback to management or team lead on existing operations. Communicates departmental procedures, supporting consistency of implementation with prescribed practices. Ensures that procedures are clearly defined, documented and meet the required standards.
Prepare supporting materials for the Business Operations Manager and/or team to prepare and present analysis of findings from ongoing data collection and sampling to management and MFS Committees when requested.
Participates in quality-focused improvements in firm wide processes for which the organization is a stakeholder.
Following clearly defined instructions and guides, assist with quality assurance testing of systems, reports and processes as needed.
Contribute to status meetings, update status reports, deploy meeting notes with clear, actionable next steps.
Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience.
2-5+ years' relevant experience..
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required.
Proficiency in visualizing process diagrams, taking them from text to a visual flowchart/diagram to support common understanding of processes across the department – want to emphasize this.
Ability to build an understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates.
Experience working hands-on with large volumes of data and reporting results.
Desire to develop and foster strong interpersonal relationships.
Strong aptitude for analytical work, strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, exhibiting a positive, collaborative, flexible disposition with the ability to handle routine tasks independently and to collaborate on bigger projects as part of a team and under manager supervision. Has a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
Is a self-starter with a mindset thatunderstands urgency of deadlines.
PREFERRED:
Proficiency in process visualization, Aha!, MS Visio, and M365, Workfront, Seismic is platforms highly advantageous.
