Quantum Scholars are excited to work alongside a well-regarded secondary school in Guildford, who are currently seeking a Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher with the ability to teach both French and Spanish to secondary school level. This is a full-time position on a Long Term contract initially for 1 year with a strong potential to go permanent with the school.

The role is for an immediate start and is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or a newly qualified teacher (NQT) looking to further their career in a supportive, collaborative environment.

The school hiring are a proud, caring and friendly community of learners. They're rated as a "Good" school by Ofsted. They're located in a town based in West Surrey, situated in a lovely area with great access to public transport links.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in French and Spanish across Key Stage 3 and 4.
  2. Ensure lessons are tailored to the needs of diverse learners, making language learning exciting and accessible.
  3. Prepare students for GCSE exams, setting appropriate assessments and ensuring all students reach their potential.
  4. Plan and deliver a stimulating curriculum that meets the requirements of the National Curriculum.
  5. Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting clear targets for improvement.
  6. Use data to track and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary.
Classroom Management and Student Support:
  1. Establish and maintain clear boundaries for student behavior, creating a positive and respectful learning environment.
  2. Provide pastoral support for students, helping them to develop their language skills, confidence, and academic abilities.
  3. Encourage student participation and foster a love of languages through interactive, engaging activities.
Key Requirements:
  1. Teaching Qualification:
  2. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  3. Degree in Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish or a closely related subject).
  4. Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) are encouraged to apply.
  5. Must have a right to work in the UK!
  6. Experience:
  7. Previous experience teaching French and Spanish at Key Stage 3 and 4 is desirable but not essential.
  8. Passion for languages and teaching, with the ability to inspire and engage students.
  9. Excellent classroom management skills and a proactive approach to student development.
  10. Skills & Attributes:
  11. Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  12. Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to departmental growth.
  13. An adaptable, positive attitude with a willingness to learn and innovate.
  14. A strong understanding of the National Curriculum for MFL.
