Twenty4Seven Education is seeking a full-time qualified, enthusiastic and highly effective Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher for an excellent ‘Good’ Ofsted-rated Secondary School in Broadstairs, Kent. From January until July, you will be teaching French and German full-time to KS3-KS4 pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Have regard for the need to safeguard pupils’ well-being following statutory provisions.
  2. Set high expectations which inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
  3. Plan and teach well-structured differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum and the school’s curriculum policy.
  4. Give pupils regular feedback and encourage pupils to respond to the feedback.
  5. Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment following the school’s behaviour policy.
  6. Deploy any support staff effectively.
  7. Take responsibility for improving teaching through appropriate professional development, responding to advice and feedback from colleagues.
  8. Ability to communicate effectively in English, French, and German.
  9. Liaise with parents and other professionals about pupils’ achievements and well-being.

Must have:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  2. Experience working within an educational setting or similar (minimum of 12 months of experience).
  3. Excellent subject knowledge.
  4. Child DBS check on the Update Service or willing to pay and apply for a new one (Twenty4Seven Education can assist you with this process).
  5. Up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum.
  6. Read the DfE ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (2024) document.
  7. Excellent classroom management.
  8. Good communication skills.
