Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an MFL Teacher to work across a range of secondary schools in Middlesbrough. This role offers flexibility with full-time, part-time or short/long-term placements and immediate start.

You will plan and deliver MFL lessons (French, Spanish or German), assess pupil progress, and contribute to a supportive language department. Competitive daily rates and a dedicated consultant are provided.

Qualifications

• QTS or QTLS (or strong FE teaching experience with relevant language delivery).
• Experience teaching MFL within a secondary school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge and passion for language education.
• A proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach.
• A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
• Two professional references covering the last 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering MFL lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 advantageous).
• Teaching one or more languages (commonly French, Spanish, or German).
• Creating engaging and interactive lessons to develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
• Differentiating activities to support students of all abilities.
• Assessing pupil progress and providing clear, constructive feedback.
• Encouraging cultural awareness and positive attitudes towards language learning.
• Managing behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
• Working collaboratively with department staff and pastoral teams.
• Supporting intervention sessions or enrichment where required.
