Job description

We require a reliable, enthusiastic and organised language assistant with experience of working with young people to deliver the day to day provision for students who require support with MFL across all key stages.

The role will include undertaking and evaluating small group or 1:1 interventions and working with teaching staff to implement strategies to enable them to access the curriculum and achieve their potential. In addition, the role supports the teaching staff with administration support, classroom displays and exam preparation.

Applicants will be able to speak either French or Spanish fluently and the other to a conversational level. They will be patient, with the ability to listen and build constructive relationships with young people. Experience of planning and leading on activities in the area of MFL is essential, as is the ability to use effective behaviour strategies.

The successful candidate must have excellent IT skills, a standard of written and spoken English that supports pupils learning, as well as a TA specific qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or 3, and an awareness of the barriers to learning that students with additional needs face.

We are a fully inclusive school that is dedicated to both supporting and challenging all members of our diverse community, and to developing the potential in all our students, no matter what their starting point. Pastoral care is of the highest importance, and we are committed to providing the best possible learning environment to develop confident, independent learners. We provide an ambitious and broad curriculum, and ensure that students have opportunities outside the classroom to develop and inspire them, including a wide range of extracurricular activities.

We welcome immediate applications for this post, and all applications will be considered immediately upon receipt. We will interview and appoint accordingly, and we reserve the right to make an appointment before the deadline.
