Job summary

Path Recruitment is seeking an experienced MEWP Service Engineer to join a specialist lifting equipment operation in Hertfordshire. You will service scissor lifts, boom lifts and articulated platforms across demanding sites in the UK and mainland Europe.

Based from the Hertfordshire premises, the role involves fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance and on-site operator guidance, with travel and workshop support as needed. A company van is provided and CAP accreditation training is available.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing MEWPs (scissor/boom platforms) and other mobile elevating work devices.
• Familiar with LOLER and PUWER regulations and inspections.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across UK and Europe.
• Strong fault diagnosis and repair capabilities (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic).

Responsibilities

• Performing routine servicing, fault diagnosis and repair on MEWPs including scissor lifts, boom lifts and articulated platforms.
• Conducting pre-delivery, pre-use and statutory inspections in full compliance with LOLER and PUWER requirements.
• Identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults to a high standard.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance programmes to reduce equipment downtime and extend operational life.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all service activity, inspections and repairs completed.
• Providing operator familiarisation and guidance to customers on the safe use of MEWPs.
• Supporting customers on site and attending breakdowns across UK locations and periodically in Europe.
• Assisting with workshop duties at the Hertfordshire base including inspections, testing and run repairs.
• Adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations at all times.

This is a genuine opportunity to join a specialist operation in the Hertfordshire area, working on high-specification lifting equipment across some of the most demanding sites in the UK and mainland Europe.

Benefits of the MEWP Service Engineer:

• Salary: circa £55,000
• Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 09:00 - 17:30 and Friday 09:00 - 16:30
• Holidays: 28 days including bank holidays

Responsibilities of the MEWP Service Engineer:

• Based from premises in the Hertfordshire area, this MEWP Service Engineer position sits at the heart of a specialist operation focused on lifting equipment used within data centre whitespace environments. As a MEWP Service Engineer you will be responsible for:
• Performing routine servicing, fault diagnosis and repair on a range of MEWPs including scissor lifts, boom lifts and articulated platforms
• Conducting pre-delivery, pre-use and statutory inspections in full compliance with LOLER and PUWER requirements
• Identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults to a high standard
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance programmes to reduce equipment downtime and extend operational life

• Providing operator familiarisation and guidance to customers on the safe use of mobile elevating work platforms
• Supporting customers directly on site and attending breakdowns as required across UK locations and periodically on mainland Europe
• Assisting with workshop duties at the Hertfordshire base including inspections, testing and run repairs
• Adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations at all times
