An automotive component manufacturer with sites across Europe requires a Metrology Technician to perform measurements on CMM machines and modify CMM programmes from data as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience in metrology and PCDIMIS software.

Location: Commutable from Birmingham, Coventry, Tamworth, Sutton Coldfield, Solihull, Redditch, Bromsgrove

Hourly Rate: £X per hour (working hours: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Thursday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm Friday)

Suitable for: Quality Technician, CMM Programmer, CMM Technician, Metrology Engineer, Metrology Technician

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Tooling Engineer, your duties will include:

  1. Supporting the Laboratory Manager and reporting on key metrics.
  2. Performing measurements using CMM machines.
  3. Writing and modifying CMM programmes.
  4. Using measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and DTIs.
  5. Applying problem-solving techniques to address quality concerns.
The Person

Ideal candidates will have experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and possess:

  1. The ability to work independently and use initiative to achieve objectives.
  2. Metrology experience.
  3. Flexibility to work shifts, including occasional night shifts.
  4. Experience writing or modifying CMM programmes using CAMIO Studio software.
  5. Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret CAD models.
  6. Experience with PCDIMIS software is desirable.
