Job summary

TipTopJob in Dudley, West Midlands, is seeking a Metrology Engineer to join an SME focused on metal-based components. The role centers on measuring NPI parts, quality inspection, and operating, setting and calibrating CMM equipment.

You will measure production and NPI parts, contribute to APQP/PPAP processes, and ensure parts meet technical specs. A solid background in metrology and GD&T is essential, with programming/calibration of metrology machinery a key part of the job.

Qualifications

Experience in metrology or CMM positions.
Experience using metrology laboratory equipment.
Strong understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
Team player with good collaboration skills.
Able to program and calibrate metrology machinery.

Responsibilities

Operate, set up and calibrate CMM equipment.
Measure production and NPI parts.
Input into the NPI, APQP, PPAP processes.
Analyse measurement data and identify improvements.
Ensure parts meet technical and industry specifications.
