Methods Development Engineer - Submarines

Location: Derby, Raynesway

Rolls-Royce offers an excellent opportunity for a Methods Development Engineer to join our Submarines Business in Derby.

As a methods development engineer, you will actively develop methods that increase the availability and safety of components in-service. This involves leading the entire development lifecycle, including:

  1. Preliminary literature reviews to generate hypotheses
  2. Physical testing for validation
  3. Reporting and obtaining regulatory approval
  4. Implementation of the developed methods as quality-assured software

What you'll be doing:

  • Presenting to senior stakeholders from various backgrounds
  • Report writing

  • Material modelling of polycrystalline materials
  • Thermal hydraulic analysis

  • Knowledge of probabilistic methods
  • Statistical analysis skills

Desirable Experience:

  • DevOps practices
  • Experience with industrial codes such as R6, ASME III
  • Finite Element Analysis
