A market-leading renewable energy company seeks a Metering Specialist for a 12-month contract in central London. The role involves managing the metering lifecycle, ensuring compliance, and providing expert knowledge in metering practices. Candidates should have an engineering degree and at least 5 years' experience in the utilities sector, along with strong interpersonal and risk management skills.
Job Description
We have an immediate contract requirement for a Metering Specialist to work for our market leading renewable energy client. This is expected to last at least 12 months & will be based up to 50% of the working week at our client’s central London head office.
As a Metering Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end metering lifecycle, including installation, maintenance, performance monitoring, and compliance with industry regulations. You will work closely with internal teams, third-party suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure metering systems operate efficiently and provide a seamless experience for customers, acting as the subject matter expert for metering within our clients UK operation.

Qualifications and Experience
• Ideally you will have an Engineering degree qualified or hold a formal Electronics/controls qualification such as Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent recognised training
• 5 years plus experience working with metering in the utilities sector and operational environments
• Experience in network infrastructure, architecture, and administration
Knowledge and Skills
• High personal impact combined with distinct customer , entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen
• Ability to translate technical requirements into commercial impact, and to identify and manage risks in changing and challenging environments.
• Demonstrated experience and good understanding of operational requirements from commercial and technical point of view
• Excellent presentation and communication skills internally and externally
• Able to influence key stakeholders including local authorities, developers, and energy partners
• Risk management –strong understanding of commercial and technical risks and how it impacts the business
• Good understanding of customer needs and customer types (local authorities, developers, commercial customers) and their drivers
• Excellent engineering skills with good understanding of commercial approach, risks and challenges
• Good knowledge of regulatory and legislative requirements
• Strong knowledge of zero carbon solutions and policy trends
