Job Description:

The Vacancy

The countdown to net zero has begun. Through smart metering, installation, data services, EV charging, and the electrification of heat, solar, and battery storage, we are driving a more sustainable future while staying true to our core values. Our mission is clear: Delivering Smarter Energy For All.

As we work towards the UK’s 2030 net zero target, we are looking for a proactive and people-focused Field Team Manager to support the Regional Operations Manager in leading regional field operations across North East London. This role will cover the E, EN, IG, N, & NW postcode areas, so a good understanding of the local geography & workforce landscape is essential.

You will be responsible for leading a team of Meter Operatives, ensuring performance targets, safety standards, and compliance requirements are met, while delivering against key business objectives. The role also includes resource planning, team development, and budget responsibility, making this a varied and influential leadership position.

Please note: candidates must have prior experience in the metering industry and have previously managed field-based teams within this sector. Applications that do not meet this essential requirement will not be progressed.

Location: Remote with regular travel across the E, EN, IG, N, & NW areas
Hours: Full-time (42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday).
Salary: £41,757 per annum + £2,000 London weighting + £4,500 car allowance

What We’re Looking For:

Experience & Knowledge

  • Previous team management experience within the utility metering industry
  • Excellent knowledge of meter operations activity
  • Understanding of health and safety within the metering environment
  • Based within, or in close proximity to, the E, EN, IG, N or NW postcode areas, with a willingness and ability to travel regularly across these areas

Technical Skills

  • Numerate, with the ability to work effectively with data
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with high attention to detail

Leadership & Communication

  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development experience
  • Able to coach, motivate, and manage performance across a dispersed team

Qualifications

  • Good standard of education (GCSE or equivalent)
  • Full UK driving licence (or equivalent) with a maximum of 6 points

Personal Attributes

  • Flexible and adaptable to meet changing operational needs
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive in approach
  • Calm under pressure with a positive, solution-focused mindset
  • Trustworthy, reliable, and team-oriented
  • Organised with strong time-management skills

What We Offer

  • Annual salary review
  • 33 days’ holiday (including Bank Holidays & length of service)
  • Birthday off
  • Company sick pay
  • Life assurance (4x salary)
  • Pension plan
  • Enhanced maternity & paternity leave
  • Health expense claims through HealthShield
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme
  • EV salary sacrifice scheme
  • Opportunities for professional growth in a rapidly expanding company
