Job summary

GI Group Main Account in the United Kingdom is hiring Meter Readers to collect data from gas, electricity and water meters at residential and commercial sites. You will use a handheld device for reads and to log details while delivering excellent customer service.

The role offers 40–45 hours weekly with flexible start times, Monday to Friday (occasional Saturdays) between 8am–8pm. Full training provided, uniform and PPE, company car, pension, and 28 days holiday accrue.

Qualifications

• UK manual driving licence with acceptable points (1–6).
• Physically able to bend, lift, kneel, climb stairs, and walk 4–5 miles daily.
• Willing to work in all weather conditions.
• DBS check clean (no unspent convictions) and credit history clear in last 6 years.
• Minimum 5 years employment history.
• Customer service experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve data from meters at domestic, commercial, and industrial sites for Water, Gas and Electric Meters; full training provided.
• Carry out visual inspections of metering equipment.
• Conduct Charge Point Surveys.
• Drive and work independently with a friendly, professional approach.
• Adhere to Health and Safety guidelines at all times.
• Provide excellent customer service and accurate reads using handheld devices.
