We are looking for someone who would like to work independently with flexible hours. This role is best suited for those who are personable and friendly. It involves customer-facing tasks, driving, and data collection within the Egremont Area. The position is part-time, with hours set at 20 hours per week, flexible between 8am and 8pm daily.
It is essential that applicants have their own vehicle and are willing to take out business insurance to travel to customers' properties.
Main Purpose of the Job
To visit residential and commercial properties to obtain accurate utility meter readings and conduct visual inspections of metering equipment, ensuring all information is recorded promptly and correctly using the company's mobile application.
Key Responsibilities;

  • Visit residential, commercial, and industrial premises to read utility meters, carry out visual inspections, and deliver customer documentation where required.
  • Accurately record and submit customer data using the mobile app or designated worksheets.
  • Identify and report any safety-critical damage or irregularities to metering systems in line with company policy.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and uphold customer data confidentiality.
  • Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Support the business by upholding Calisens values, policies, and procedures, and carrying out any additional duties requested by management.

Experience Required
Experience in a customer-facing role
Experience working outdoors in all weather conditions
Previous experience in a driving-based role
Experience dealing with challenging or difficult members of the public
Prior experience in the energy or utilities sector
Knowledge and Skills
Basic awareness of health and safety requirements relevant to field-based or lone working roles
Understanding of confidentiality and data protection principles, including GDPR
Familiarity with using digital tools or mobile apps to capture and submit information
A basic understanding of the energy or utility metering industry
Awareness of environmental considerations related to field operations and travel
Knowledge of customer service principles and managing public-facing interactions
