Job summary

Gi Group Holdings Recruitment Limited are hiring Meter Readers in the Leatherhead area. No experience required. Full-time, outdoor role with flexible start times between 8am and 8pm, Mon-Fri, occasional Sat.

You will collect data from water, gas and electricity meters and update reads on a handheld device. We offer £13.97 per hour, 40–45 hours weekly, £29,000 to £32,000 average annual earnings, with a bonus up to £1,000 monthly.

Qualifications

• Physically fit and able to bend, lift and walk 4–5 miles daily.
• Full UK Driving Licence - minimum 1 year experience, up to 6 points, no DR offences.
• Happy to work in all weather conditions.
• Clear DBS check and credit report check without derogatory records in last 6 years.
• At least 5 years employment history.
• Previous customer service experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve data from domestic, commercial, and industrial meters (Gas, Water, Electricity).
• Carry out visual inspections of metering equipment.
• Conduct Charge Point Surveys and report findings.
• Work independently with a professional approach and safety compliance.

We are hiring METER READERS in your postcode now; no experience is required.

As a Meter Reader you will be responsible for collecting data from gas, electricity & water meters for both commercial and residential properties. You will update meter reads accurately throughout the day on your handheld device, also entering the details on a handheld device at each location and providing excellent customer service.

What we offer:

• £13.97 per hour basic pay (weekly payment)
• Weekly Hours 40 - 45 hours a week with flexible start and finish times Monday - Friday (occasionally Saturday) between 8am - 8pm.
• £29,000 to £32,000 average annual earnings.

What will you need:

• Physically fit and have no issues with bending in tight spaces, lifting or kneeling, climbing stairs, crouching, and walking on average 4-5 miles a day.
• Full UK Driving Licence - Minimum 1 year, maximum 6 points, NO DR Offences - (driving license is not required in some areas in London)
• Happy to work in all weather conditions.
• Clear DBS check (no unspent criminal convictions)
• Credit Report check (No county court judgements, IVA, debt relief orders recorded for the last 6 years)
• 5 years employment history.
• Previous Customer Service experience (preferred not essential)

Duties:

• Retrieving data from domestic, commercial, and industrial sites for Water, Gas and Electric Meters, full training will be given.
• Carry out visual inspections of associated metering equipment.
• Charge Point Surveys.
• Drive and motivation to work in an independent role.
• Friendly personality with a professional approach to work.
• Adhering to Health and Safety guidelines at all times.

Training:

• Training is 1 week and will be both classroom-based and field-based with an experienced meter reader, so you get to see the job through a professional's eyes.
