Job Title – Meteorological Solutions Specialist

We have an exciting opportunity to join a well-established commercial team to manage to grow our business internationally. This is a very exciting time for the company and there are ambitious growth plans, which the successful candidate will be a big part of.

The Role

  • Management of an existing client base, administering contracts, liaising with clients on various matters and responding to queries.
  • Develop relationships with customers to promote new offerings, and regularly call/visit to discuss requirements and maximise business opportunities.
  • Identify and generate leads through networking, cold-calling, marketing and events.
  • Manage the sales cycle from inception to execution, with sound qualification process, objection handling, and negotiation tactics.
  • Responsible for negotiating, renewing and retaining business from year to year.
  • Successfully demonstrates sound weather knowledge and demonstrations of MetDesk’s Weather SaaS & API data product portfolio.
  • Presenting to prospective and existing clients (face to face and online)
  • Create informative promotional content for social media
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline, keeping the CRM updated and generating management reports.

The Person

  • An understanding of how weather impacts businesses/organisations worldwide
  • Target driven and motivated individual with a can-do attitude, and the ability to work unsupervised as part of a close team
  • Ability to identify, develop and close sales opportunities
  • An active listener capable of managing expectations effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator in English. Additional languages would be an advantage.
  • Confident and able to pitch to prospective clients up to board level
  • Organised, efficient with excellent attention to detail
  • Creative thinker with the ability to find innovative solutions and feed product/service ideas to management

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in meteorology, and preferably within energy and / or renewables markets
  • Previous experience in an advisory / account management capacity in a SaaS environment, achieving and exceeding targets
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience in a related weather critical market would be an advantage
  • Bachelors’ degree preferred
